I just did a basic paint job and left the conversions to those more adventuresome than myself. I chose a green/red color scheme (Rebellious Santa's elves?) mainly because I wanted to experiment with Tamiya clear paint. According to the Warhammer fluff, the cloaks the Corsairs wear are from sea dragons and I pictured a sea dragon as shiny, iridescent green or blue. However, blue seemed too High Elf to me, so I ruled it out and went green. I painted the cloak with Boltgun Metal (Citadel) and highlighted with Chainmail and then Mithril Silver. Over the metallic paint I painted on the Tamiya clear green in the hope that the metal highlights would shine through. It kind of worked....
For the claws/talons, I used Cinnamon Brown up to Antique White (Americana brand). From a distance it looks good, but looks a little chalky at magnification in the scans. Most of the time I find "craft store" paints to work well, but sometimes I'll get this type of effect. Oh well, not enough time to redo it for VIC#6.
Once I had the green (and deciding to go with a two color theme), I broke out my nifty color wheel and chose red for the clothing. I practiced my layering techniques (still new to me) and went from a red-brown up to an orange-red mix on the tabard and sleeves. The same techniques were used for the flesh areas layering from a tanned flesh up to a light noble flesh color. The armor and sword were successive drybrushings of Boltgun Metal up through Mithril Silver. I kept most of the other colors neutral (black, brown & gray) and added a few gold accents. The base is nothing elaborate, as I wanted the mini to remain usable in the Warhammer game, glued up with ballast and static grass.

Hi Tony !
Hmm, this is difficult. I jut like how he looks. All works
together perfectly. It isn't a piece that scrams 'I am a display
piece', but that is a good thing here and somethimes hard to
achive. No real points to critique here.

Nice shading altogether. His face looks especially nice. I love
the look for the armor, too. It appears extremely heavy and
battle-worn.

This is really nice. I would say "classic". I'm not sure I
like red/shiny green/violet mix, but that's personal choice.
I think metal parts need some additional highlights, especially
the sword.
His scaly cloak - all shiny, doesn't look highlighted at all (or
maybe those black hair are giving the impresion, darkening
minature's back, don't know).
I can barely highlight metallics by myself, but I'm good in
criticizing others :)

Nice simple paint job. Like Dominic said everything fits
together nicely.
